THE GARDEN & RIVERBANK

Our guests are welcome to spend time in the garden enjoying the flowers and birds and listening to their endless song with the gentle sound of the river as it flows past the bottom of the garden.  The jewel in the crown is now the beautiful new riverbank garden created after storm Callum devastated the area in October 2018.  Thanks to the talents of Gurt Lush Gardens the whole bank has been expertly rebuilt with a fabulous elevated viewing platform halfway down in addition to the bench at river level.  The various seating areas all give a different aspect of the river and surrounding countryside and at night our resident bats leave the "Batcave" on the bank and can be seen hunting across the river making a meal of the insect population.  Down by the river there are beautiful dragonflies and damselflies and we have an abundance of beautiful butterflies and bees in all shapes and sizes.  The flowers vary with the seasons but here is a taster in no particular order!  Hovering over the photos will show you the captions.
